Roles and responsibilities.

22 Apr

To me, i believe that when you were born, you have two core roles:

One: to be shaped by others.

Two: to shape yourself.

These two things must co-exist together, no matter how conflicting & confusing it may be.

people who whine about life, are those who have given up(or have never tried) shaping themselves, and people who are too selfish, shape themselves too much.

there is nothing you can do to change the direction which the earth spins(unless ya Superman), the day you were born was the day you were shackled by society’s demands, that’s how your first role originated.

but because nothing is perfect, there is a part of your life that you CAN do something about, your will, and thus your 2nd role.

So it really depends on how you look at things.

Heck, if you are a optimist, both roles can be viewed as positive really.

Whine about something that you can never change? or make the best out of things that you can?

PS: this is just my OWN personal opinions, not directed at anybody.

why do you say that people who are selfish shape themselves too much? i beg to differ! these self-shapers want to be better versions of themselves, which is not in any way being selfish.

i never say u cannot shape yourself la. the key word here is ‘TOO MUCH’. by all means shape all you want, but if all you do is care about your own self and only solo-bun all the way, then aren’t you selfish?
