Previously with Tab Mix Plus, I didn’t have this problem where the ’round round thingy with the + sign’ will plod itself right next to the tabs I’ve opened, it was neater and easy on my eyes.
But since Tab Mix Plus doesn’t work with FF 3.5 (booooooooo) I was stuck with the ’round round thing with the + sign’ and boy was it distracting and fugly.
Therefore off I go to do a search and VOILA! I love the Interwebz.
For those who know how to create a userChrome.css file, just go over to this thread, scroll down to Gingerbread Guy’s post, and follow his instructions.
Alternatively, just enter this in your userchrome.css,
/* Tab bar: hide new tab button */
tabbrowser .tabs-newtab-button { display: none !important }
[All credit goes to Gingerbread Guy on MozillaZine forums]
For those of you who are unsure how to or where this userChrome.css is/created,
Go here
[Once again, thanks to Gingerbread Guy for being so thorough]
For those of you lazy asses who can’t bother to click and read, (WHY NOT! 3.5 is faster!!)
1. Start>Run, Type “%APPDATA%” without the quotes
2. Click on folders, Mozilla>Firefox>Profiles>XXXXXXXX.default(where x’s should be a chain of gibberish)>Chrome
3. Make a new txt document and rename it to userChrome.css (YES CHANGE THE EXT FROM .TXT TO .CSS ALSO!)
4. Copy and paste the above code in the quote(HAHA) and save.
5. Restart Firefox
6. ????
7. DING DONG PROFIT!!!!
Yay. Much neater. Hopefully Tab Mix Plus gets updated soonish. For now this should work. At least it did for me.
UPDATED: It seems that there are some people with problems creating the files, so here you go: userChrome.css
download it and copy/cut to:
(Do remember to reveal hidden files and folders first, or run>%appdata%)
FOR XP: C:\Documents and Settings\<your username here>\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<chain of gibberish here>.default\chrome
FOR VISTA: No freaking idea. Google is your best friend.
